AI Visibility Tools for Ecommerce, Compared (2026)
Most AI visibility tools tell a brand how often its name shows up in AI answers. Fewer track which products get recommended, and none yet explains why a product lost the pick. Here is what each one covers, as checked on their own sites in October 2026.
AI visibility tools run a set of prompts through AI engines such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, then record whether your brand appears, where it sits in the answer, how it is described and which sources are cited. Vendors also sell them as GEO or generative engine optimization tools. For an ecommerce brand, the best AI visibility tools are the ones that track products, not just the brand name, and show the sources behind each recommendation. As of October 2026, most tools track brands and prompts, a handful track product-level placement in shopping answers, and none explains why a specific product lost a recommendation.
Before paying for anything, you can get a long way with free checkers, two free first-party reports, and the manual method at the end of this article. Every price and feature below was checked on the vendor's own site on 22 October 2026. Prices change often; treat them as a snapshot.
What an AI visibility tool actually measures
The mechanics are the same across vendors. You define prompts, or the tool suggests them. The tool runs each prompt on a schedule in each engine you pay for. Then it parses the answers into metrics: mentions, position in the answer, share of voice against competitors, sentiment, and the domains and URLs cited.
Two details change how much you can trust the numbers.
- How answers are collected. Profound says it captures answers from the consumer browsing experience rather than model APIs. Peec AI says it uses UI scraping as a logged-out user. Others do not say. API answers can differ from what a signed-in shopper sees, so ask.
- How often each prompt runs. AI answers vary from run to run. One run per prompt per month is an anecdote. Daily runs, or several samples per run, start to look like a measurement.
For a store there is a third question: does the tool see products? A shopper rarely asks "tell me about Brand X". They ask for a product with constraints, and the answer is often a shopping card with specific items, prices and merchants. A tool that only counts brand mentions in text misses that layer.

The tools, compared
Profound
Tracks brand visibility, citations and sentiment from prompts you define across up to nine engines, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and DeepSeek, per its pricing page. It has the most developed shopping feature we found: its Shopping Analysis captures product tiles, prices and merchant links, reports how often your prompts trigger a shopping answer, and shows SKU-level placement and how AI describes each product's attributes. The docs say coverage is currently focused on ChatGPT Shopping, with Perplexity and Gemini still evolving, and Shopping Analysis is on the Enterprise plan. Public pricing: a free 7-day trial (50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, without shopping); Enterprise is custom.
Peec AI
Tracks visibility, position, sentiment, share of voice and sources from your prompts. Self-serve plans let you choose three engines from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI; Enterprise adds more, up to 13. Its AI Shopping features, listed on the pricing page, take your catalog from Shopify, a CSV or Merchant Center and report visibility, position and win rate per product, top merchants, and the domains AI retrieved when recommending a product. Public pricing: Starter €85/month (50 prompts, 3 engines, daily), Pro €205 (150 prompts), Advanced €425 (350 prompts), Enterprise custom.
Ahrefs Brand Radar
Tracks mentions, citations, AI share of voice and impressions across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with Claude available, per the Brand Radar page. Its strength is scale: it builds indexes from Ahrefs' keyword database and runs them through each platform, and you can add custom prompts. No product or shopping feature is listed. Public pricing: the AI Visibility Index from $199/month, custom prompts from $50/month. Ahrefs also offers a free AI visibility checker with no signup.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Gives a brand AI Visibility Score, share of voice, sentiment, competitor research, prompt research and daily tracking of 25 prompts. Its knowledge base names ChatGPT and Google AI Mode for prompt tracking and lists no product feature. Public pricing: $99/month, no free trial; prompt packs and the bundled SEO plans cost more. Semrush also runs a free AI search visibility checker, three checks a day, no account needed.
Otterly.AI
Tracks mentions, citations, sentiment and share of AI voice, plus a content audit. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot are included on every plan; AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons, per its pricing page. No product feature is listed. Public pricing: Lite $29/month (15 prompts), Standard $189 (100), Premium $489 (400), with about 15% off for annual billing. The lowest entry price in this list.
Scrunch

No product feature is listed. Public pricing on its pricing page: Starter $300/month ($250 billed annually) with 350 prompts, Growth $500, Enterprise custom.
Evertune
Brand-level tracking across 11 models including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Copilot, DeepSeek and Meta, sampling each prompt many times per model, per its site. No product-level feature is shown. Public pricing on its pricing page: Starter $60/month, Pro $800/month billed annually, Enterprise custom.
Ecommerce-focused trackers
A few newer tools are built around products rather than brands. Each claim below comes from the vendor's own site; we have not tested them.
- Goodie. Its agentic commerce suite tracks SKU-level mentions, rank in comparisons, merchants and price accuracy, and lists ChatGPT Shopping, AI Mode Shopping, Amazon's Alexa for Shopping and Walmart's Sparky among its surfaces. Its pricing page shows Core at $295/month and SKU-level visibility on Pro at $999/month.
- Rankscale. Offers shopping analysis of shopping cards in ChatGPT, AI Mode and Copilot, with plans from $20/month; the page does not make clear which plans include shopping.
- Stackline. Reports product-level answer impressions across ChatGPT, Alexa and Gemini. No public price.
- Azoma. Claims SKU-level visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Rufus and Perplexity and flags inaccurate claims about products. No public price.
Free first-party reports
Two platforms now report AI visibility themselves, for free. Google Merchant Center's AI performance insights show your share of voice against Merchant Center competitors in AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini, the top terms shoppers use, how many of your products show for them, and popular attributes missing from your data. As of October 2026 it covers English queries in the US, Canada, Australia, India and New Zealand, organic listings only. Bing Webmaster Tools' AI Performance report, in preview since February 2026, counts citations of your pages in Copilot and Bing's AI summaries.

The gap: products, not brands
A brand can have a healthy share of voice and still lose the product that pays the bills. The shopper asked for a 2-person tent under 2 kg; the answer named your brand's 3-person model and a competitor's 2-person tent. A brand-level tracker counts that as a win.
Product-level tracking closes part of that gap: you see which SKU was named, at what price and from which merchant. What no tool shows yet is why a product lost. The closest features are gap and source analysis. Peec lists the domains AI retrieved when it recommended a product. Profound shows how AI describes product attributes. Merchant Center lists popular attributes your data lacks. All of them describe the outcome. None joins the answer to your own product record and says "your listing has no weight field, the request asked for under 2 kg, the winner states 1.8 kg".
A tool can tell you that you lost the recommendation. Finding out why still means opening your own product data.

That join is work you can do yourself: put the answer next to your product's attributes, price, stock and reviews, and check each constraint in the prompt. The guide to GEO for ecommerce covers what to fix once you find the cause, and product attributes explained covers the fields that most often go missing.
A free AI visibility checker you can run yourself
This manual method costs a few hours a month and answers the product question the brand trackers skip.
- Write 30 prompts. Ten category requests with constraints ("best wide-fit trail shoes under $150"), ten comparisons ("X vs Y for long runs"), ten problem questions ("what shoes help with heel pain on trails"). Use the words your customers use in reviews and support tickets.
- Run them in five engines. ChatGPT with search, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot. Use a private window or a fresh logged-out session, set to the country you sell in, so memory and history do not skew the answer. Run each prompt twice.
- Log every answer. A spreadsheet with engine, prompt, date, products named in order, whether your product appears and where, the price quoted, sources cited, and any wrong fact about you.
- Score it. Share of answers is answers that name your product divided by all answers. Track it per product and per engine, not only overall.
- Diagnose each miss. For every prompt you lost, compare the winner with your product on each constraint in the prompt: is the attribute missing in your feed or page, is the price above the budget, is it out of stock, are reviews thin, is your product absent from the sources the answer cited?
- Repeat monthly with the same prompts, and add the free Ahrefs and Semrush checkers and the Merchant Center and Bing reports as cross-checks.
The method has limits. Two runs are a small sample, answers shift between days, and logged-out results are not what every signed-in shopper sees. It is still enough to find the products and constraints that cost you the pick, which is where the money is.
How to choose an AI visibility tool
The best AI tools for optimizing product visibility are the ones that match what you sell and where your shoppers ask. A few rules of thumb:
- If products are what you sell, start there. Shortlist tools with SKU-level tracking and check which engines' shopping answers they actually capture. Profound's shopping feature, for example, is focused on ChatGPT for now.
- If you already pay for Ahrefs or Semrush, their AI add-ons are the cheapest way to get brand-level tracking next to your SEO data.
- If budget is tight, Otterly's entry plan, the free checkers and the manual method cover the basics.
- Ask every vendor how answers are collected (consumer interface or API, logged out or not, which country), how many times each prompt runs, whether citations are reported at URL level, and whether you can export raw answers. Raw answers let you do the product diagnosis yourself.
- Do the math in answers, not prompts. Prompts times engines times runs per month is what you are buying. Fifty prompts on three engines daily is about 4,500 answers a month.

FAQ
What is an AI visibility tool?
Software that runs prompts through AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and Perplexity on a schedule and reports whether your brand or products appear, how they are described, and which sources are cited.
Is there a free AI visibility checker?
Yes. Ahrefs and Semrush both offer free checkers without signup; Semrush allows three checks a day. Google Merchant Center's AI performance insights and Bing Webmaster Tools' AI Performance report are free first-party sources, and you can run the manual prompt method above.
What are the best GEO tools for ecommerce?
For product-level tracking, look at tools that capture shopping answers per SKU, such as Profound (Enterprise), Peec AI, Goodie or Rankscale. For brand-level tracking alongside SEO data, Ahrefs Brand Radar and Semrush. No tool fits every store; check which engines and shopping surfaces each covers.
Can AI visibility tools track products in ChatGPT shopping?
Some can. Profound's Shopping Analysis focuses on ChatGPT Shopping, and Peec AI, Goodie and Rankscale list shopping or SKU-level tracking across ChatGPT and other engines. Most other tools track brand mentions only.
How accurate are AI visibility tools?
They are directionally useful, not exact. AI answers vary between runs, users and locations, and tools collect them in different ways. Prefer tools that run prompts often, disclose their collection method and let you export raw answers.
